International Programs

La Grande Rotary is committed to international programs. Over the past ten years the club has been involved in projects that we have generated and others for which we have partnered.

We have worked with clubs in Ecuador to drill water wells and create sanitary restrooms for school children in seven towns east of Quito. Here are some pre-post examples of water projects:

La Grande Rotary has also partnered with other clubs to provide a fresh water system for the community of homes outside Bahia. This hardscrabble group of workers had no source of fresh water that was easily available.

La Grande Rotary subsequently is working with other international projects including the Hermiston club’s efforts in Honduras. The Rotary Foundation will provide a Global Grant that will allow the Hermiston Rotary Club to complete a much needed sanitation project in San Juancito, Honduras. Joining the Hermiston Rotary Club on this project are the Pendleton Rotary Club, Milton Freewater Rotary Club, Wallowa County Rotary Club, La Grande Rotary Club, East Portland Rotary Club, Southeast Portland Rotary Club, Lake Oswego Rotary Club, Portland Pearl Rotary Club along with the Hermiston Altrusa Club and Pendleton Altrusa Club and other individual donors.
